Liberty Council Freaks Out Over Repubs Backing Gay Marriage; Circulates Hate Pledge

From Right Wing Watch:

Conservative group the Liberty Counsel is “totally APPALLED that certain conservative leaders are backing down in their defense of marriage while making major concessions to the views of the pro-homosexual community.”

Obviously, “certain conservative leaders” means “Glenn Beck, Ann Coulter, and others who waffle to take a strong public stand for the protection of marriage,” which is why LC has started a petition demanding that conservatives:

MLK’s Niece Alveda King Blasted For Glenn Beck Rally Support; Black LGBT Groups Blow Chance To Coalesce

Dr. King’s niece, Alveda King, is scheduled to speak at Glenn Beck’s Washington DC rally this weekend as part of her crusade against pro-abortion rights in the African American community.

Says AOL’s Dr. Boyce, “King, is not making many friends this week. Her decision to join forces with Fox News host Glenn Beck during his bogus March on Washington is likely one of the most shocking and extraordinary political events in recent months. Alveda is being called a traitor for her actions and probably has old uncle Martin turning over in his grave.”

A group of black abortion advocates are also attacking Alveda King for saying her uncle is pro-life. The younger King has been a pro-life advocate for some time since coming to regret her multiple abortions but some abortion activists don’t like what she has to say.

Black Tea Party Members Say Racism? What Racism?

As a black conservative and member of the Tea Party, Deneen Borelli (pictured above) says she's been called an "oreo" and an "Uncle Tom."

At a Washington DC press conference on Wednesday, several African American individuals identifying themselves as members of the conservative Tea Party movement gathered to defend the Tea Party against accusations of racism according to AOL’s Black Voices.

Clearing the air for the rest of us—black and white, these folks dismissed the racist letter written by Tea Party Express leader Mark Williams and various racist billboards, picket signs and disparaging imagery of blacks as coming from “outsiders who infiltrated the the groups to discredit their work.”

“These people do not oppose Barack Obama because of his skin color. They oppose him because of his policies,” said Lloyd Marcus, a spokesman for the group. Then the attacks on the NAACP started.

The Tragedy Of The Black Gay Blogosphere Keeps Getting More Tragic

And his name just so happens to be Tom.

We had an interesting non-exchange this afternoon with black gay blogger Alvin McEwen of the blog Holy Bullies And Headless Monsters. Mr. McEwen has been keeping himself preoccupied lately on Huff Post these days with essays condemning the racism of the Tea Party.

Oh, he’s all worked up about it. And not that we find that problematic. It’s just that with the recent racist rantings of Americablog, our petition responding to those rants, and the overly abundant coverage of the NAACP denouncing the Tea Party, we just felt maybe Mr. McEwen’s outrage could be used somewhere else where outrage on the behalf of black gay politically-minded Americans is long overdue.

So this afternoon when we saw that McEwen had penned yet another diatribe on Teabaggers and racism on Huff Post, we decided to see what he had to say. The post So Much for No Tea Party Racism: Mark Williams Expelled From National Tea Party Federation, of course gave commentary to the recent announcement by the Tea Party that they’d expelled Mark Williams (the author of “the Abraham Lincoln Letter”) and his group Tea Party Express from the National Tea Party Federation specifically because of “the Abraham Lincoln Letter.

Sarah Palin Says NAACP Whack For Calling Tea Party Racist

Folks like Palin make the job of blogging so much easier. God bless Alaska for giving us Palin. Life would be so less interesting without her.

Okay. Okay. Her latest craziness?

Why this afternoon Mrs. Palin felt the need to speak out on the NAACP’s recent announcement that they have created a resolution condemning racism within the Tea Party political movement. The resolution was drafted during the annual convention in Kansas City of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, spokesman Chris Fleming said in an interview with AP.
