Nice. While nobody was lookin’ EQCA quietly created a Facebook page and Website hawking their latest angle to get salaries paid up until 2012—equality rings. Well that’s not the official statement behind selling the cheezy things. Here’s what they say on the Facebook page:
Our goal is straightforward: to raise as much money as we can to help once again legalize same-sex marriage in California.
In order to do so, we’ve designed these rings – simple bands showing your support of marriage equality for all people, regardless of race, religion or sexual orientation.

Well, we know of one group of gay folks who aren’t exactly whistling Dixie these days about the recent installation of openly gay California Assembly Speaker John Perez. We just received a press release from the Restore Equality 2010 (RE 2010) peeps and they’re none too happy about Speaker Perez’s recent statements concerning the status of the 2010 effort to get an initiative on the ballot to repeal Proposition 8. Lester Aponte posted the press release in the comment section of our piece John Perez Says Hi! EQCA Told Me To Tell You The 2010 Repeal Prop 8 Effort Is Dead.
To be fair, the press release isn’t necessarily a dissertation telling Speaker Perez how many ways he can go to hell. But reading between the lines we can clearly see that Aponte and the rest of the RE 2010 crew are hotter than catfish grease.

Eugene Hedlund, founder of Truthandhope.org and now the new campaign director for RE 2010
Okay. We’re going to be kind. Really. No sense in just being abusive or even mean. What would be the point? So we’ll just share the latest RE 2010 news: John Henning resigned some time ago from the executive committee for marriage equality 2010 initiative. You may recall our post on Henning and others being voted to that committee: The 5 White People In Charge Of The 2010 Marriage Equality Campaign.
Well things have changed since then obviously. Not only is Henning gone but so is Jeffrey Taylor. And today we find out that Truthandhope.org’s Eugene Hedlund is now the new campaign manager.
