Tani Cantil-Sakauye, the first nonwhite nominee for California chief justice...whatta smile;)
Now this is odd. After we read this story we lurked around the blogosphere checking to see if anyone else had reported on it. Nada. Hmmm. Maybe the Gay Mafia Press doesn’t think this is big news. Saying that Prop 8’s defeat could impact religious freedoms, religious groups backed by the American Defense Fund (ADF) are now claiming that religion’s role in the Prop 8 trial more of a centerpiece scapegoat used by Prop 8 foe litigation as “the chief obstacle for gay and lesbian political progress,” as was stated during the trial by a witness for the plaintiffs.
According to an article in the Baptist Press, conservative leaders are warning that what took place in the trial is only a preview of how supporters of “gay marriage” will cast conservative Christians if Prop 8 is overturned and “gay marriage” is legalized nationwide. We had no idea the folks over at LAist cared so much in terms of Prop 8 and the ignorance surrounding the homophobic initiative. Well God bless. Today the LAist posed a video featuring Matt Baume serving up a two-year recap of Prop 8 haps all in less than 5 minutes. Impressive. Wait. Wrong IST. It’s the SFIST. Not the LAIST. Sorry folks. Of course that was too good to be true.
Anyways, who the hell is Matt Baume you ask? Oh some young geekie white boy hottie nerd type who lives in the Bay Area and obviously an activist of sorts. He also created Stop8.org, a news Website devoted entirely to what else? Prop 8. Anyway, here’s Matt giving us the 411 in less than 5 minutes. You might want to pass this along to those straight friends and fam who’re not quite up on the Prop 8 blow by blow action.

Prop 8 plaintiff's Ted Olsen and team load up a round of fresh "whoop ass" missiles.
Prop 8 plaintiff attorney Theodore Olsen sent Judge Vaughn Walker a letter on Friday stating that the two rulings by another U.S. Judge in Boston provide “compelling support” for the Prop 8 case.
Olson wrote in the letter that U.S. District Judge Joseph Tauro of Boston “considered and rejected many of the same irrational justifications asserted by proponents in defense of Proposition 8.”
The rulings show that “none of the unfounded rationales asserted by proponents in justification of Proposition 8 can sustain this discriminatory law,” Olson argued.
