What Fox News Did To Shirley Sherrod Gay Inc Bloggers Do All Day Everyday
But nobody calls it racist. Interesting. Read this excerpt however from This Week From Barack Obama blog to get a taste of how even the most ardent fans of the White House are outraged at how the Shirley Sherrod deal was handled:
The media, reporters, in print and video have repeatedly reported the WRONG STORY or evidence of many stories. This also proves that these organizations don’t even do the basic of tasks, as in, picking up a fucking phone to perform basic FACT CHECK. This continues because the public does not demand the full facts and are trained to the “sound bite”. That is our fault for not demanding the truth.
This is the continuous problem with both sides of the media, conservative or progressive. It also shows how these outlets who are in the “NEWS BUSINESS” have cut costs drastically, go along with “rumor to make fact” and continues to get the story WRONG.
Shirley Sherrod was just on Anderson Cooper and said the forced resignation was at the behest of the White House. And on Anderson Cooper the White House is blasted for rush to judgment, without looking at the evidence. Shameful.
Fox News took Shirley Sherrod’s video and manipulated it to be something entirely different. So different in fact that she lost her job. Why are we jaded and unmoved by this?
Oh yea. That’s right. Because we’re used to it. Duh. Gay Inc. bloggers have been doing this with Obama since gee, Jan 20, 2009? Yea, we’d actually say a little before then with the Rick Warren fiasco.
And yet, no one (including black gay organizations nationwide) seems to see this as problematic in the least. What makes it really bad is that all it takes is one widely read source of a lie to do the trick. A coupla hundred other LGBT blogs pick up the story and PRESTO. You’ve got a big lie spun out of control with no hope of ever finding its way to the truth.
Here’s the thing that we wish folks would get into their fat knuckleheads: We don’t think Obama walks on water or that he’s the great messiah. No. We think that the a good portion of the gay media is bunch of scumbag unscrupulous, pus filled hateful lying liars.
See, that makes Obama look good in comparison. And it confuses because they think we’re over the top Obama fans can’t do anything wrong type of folks. No, we just like honesty. When you lie no matter who you are your status is reduced to sleaze pigdom. And we will not support you. Now onto the lies to show you what we’re talking about and how we just can’t get worked up over Sherrod cause we’re used to this kind of journalistic lacking in integrity throughout the LGBT news realm on a daily basis. Fox news goes hand and hand with gay blogdom’s habitual twisting of truths. Honestly when first started RENWL our intention was not to be a gay media watchdog. But when one see’s the kind of horrific lying we’ve seen well one has to wear multiple hats whether one wants to or not:
THE LIE
Obama defends DOMA in federal court. Says banning gay marriage is good for the federal budget. Invokes incest and marrying children.
~Americablog 6/12/09
Obama Defends DOMA; Invokes Incest, Rape, Child Marriage; Ditches Loving, Roemer, & Lawrence; And More That Will Make You Sick to Your Stomach ~Lavendar Newswire 6/12/09
The Obama admin defends DOMA in a brief comparing marriage equality to incest ~Pam’s House Blend 6/12/09
THE TRUTH
Everyone Calm Down On Obama DOJ’s DOMA Brief! ~RENWL
THE LIE
Obama DOJ lies to Politico in defending hate brief against gays ~Americablog 6/12/09
THE TRUTH
Aravosis Falsely States That DOJ Changed DOMA Suit Statement ~Law Dork June 15, 1009
Trust us when we say we could go on and on and on and on and on. But these are just a few samples we’ve provided to show that while everybody is up in arms about Sherrod this kind of stuff goes on all the time in the gay press and their beloved leader Obama.
We’re certainly not worried about Obama handling this stuff. He’s demonstrated quite well that he’s a big boy. He can handle himself. But can we handle our own lack of integrity? Who’s gonna pay the price for that eventually? Because the universe always balances things out. No one gets away with anything. The LGBT community in turning its head to the yellow journalism that grips our community won’t get away with anything either. You can’t build a platform of justice, fairness and equality on a pack of lies, dishonesty and deceitful manipulations. No. No you can’t. At some point it will crumble like sand.

Hhmmmm… I'm curious as to what you think about the LGBT bloggers saying Anderson Cooper is gay. The only proof they have are pictures of him with a known gay man. He could be his personal assistant, bodyguard or trainer for all we know. By brother has a gay friend and works with some gay men and he's not gay (married, 3 kids.) My brother has gotten his share of jokes for his friend and I asked him if he's ever uncomfortable. He said no, he's secure in himself and to counter sexual slurs with "no, I'm not gay" would be equivalent to saying that there's something wrong with being gay.
I don't know, Anderson strikes me as someone who would respond similarly if he's not gay.

I think speculating on someone's sexuality is in a realm of its own. Because the fact of the matter is, until the person admits it or it is proven by some other method of getting the facts, it's speculation. And unfortunately that's all it will ever be until the facts are revealed or shared.
I don't have many thoughts on the speculation on sexuality because I'm fairly self-involved and possibly a tad self-centered when it comes to sexuality across the board. If they're not speculating about me and my sexuality with Anderson Cooper then I'm afraid curiosity in that realm doesn't hold my interest for very long.

Derrick honey, again…
just because a blogger is anti-Obama does not make them a "Gay, Inc. blogger.
The blog where this particular Obama/KKK image comes from, for instance, is an anti-Gay Inc. blogger who rails against racist gay organizations as much as you do. He happens to be a POC, as well.

I mean, does this article by Elian Maricon sound very Gay Inc. to you?
http://www.gaysagainstobama.org/2009/03/is-gay-ne...
"I am a member of an ethnic minority in the US and a big queenie fag to boot, but I am a firm believer in black exceptionalism. In other words, black people in this country are unique in that they have endured (and continue to endure) unspeakably vile treatment that is qualitatively and quantitatively different from the prejudice to which members of other minority groups in the US are subjected. There is just no comparison. Period. I am not minimizing the struggles of other minorities, and god knows I've had to put up with my fair share of bullshit as well. But it's not the same."
He's actually more on your side than you think.

Maricon, by the way, has defended his use of the image:
http://www.gaysagainstobama.org/2009/03/uk-paper-...
"Now- While it is certainly true that the Klan initially directed its hate against black people (terrorizing them via physical assaults, constant harassment, and murder), the Klan has added all sorts of groups to their list. Of course, they know better than to express publicly any intentions to physically assault/murder people nowadays.
However, if you read the major remaining Klan organization's platform today at http://www.kkk.bz/program.htm, you will see that Obama is already enacting one of their proposals (militarizing the US-Mexico border), and his inner circle of spiritual advisors support two others (outlawing abortion, and criminalizing homosexuality). THen there is his history of promoting the ex-gay movement before he became president. Moreover, as I have stated repeatedly, Rick Warren has personal and financial ties to Ugandan extremists who terrorize and murder LGBTQ people."

I won't post the remainder of Maricon's apology (in the Socratic sense of the word "apology")
Now granted, the website is far, far too leftist and even anarchist for my regular tastes but YOU, Derrick, need to acknowledge that there are more than two boxes (pro-Obama and racist anti-Obama) in GLBTQ politics.

And to bring my pt. here all the way home…what's the substansive difference between this comment at Pam's:
We sat by and watched Obama sign our names in blood
I'm just saying how in the world could gay America permit our gov't to attach the Hate Crime Bill to the $680 BILLION budget for ongoing military operations in the middle east. How could we let that happen? How could we permit such a travesty? How HORRIFIC is that? To turn a blind eye to such an inhumane proposition? It's mind boggling.

There are many boxes, but the anti Obama seems to be the loudest
23 July, 2010 at 12:37 am
Perhaps, but I don't think that's exactly the intent of the blogger that derrick is citing here.
derrick and elian maricon agree on more things than they disagree, that's the point.
Not all anti-obama criticism is exactly the same box either…with the exception of for the true Obama folks
(for the record, I don't exactly dislike Obama…there are things about Obama that I like very much such as his wanting to restore the balance of powers of the 3 branches of government to where they are supposed to be…)
