Josh Einsohn On Courage Campaign: Why The Hate Josh?

Okay, so this morning we get our second Facebook message from All Or Not All’s Josh Einsohn. The first one if you recall we featured 2 weeks ago in our post Courage Campaign Gets Slammed On $100K Outreach For Yet Another Prop 8 Trial Reinactment.

In that post Einsohn, who heads up LA-based equality outreach and education group All Or Not All, straight up accused the Courage Campaign of unnecessarily reaching out to the LGBT public $100k for an unnecessary media campaign; a re-enactment of the Prop 8 trail. As Einsohn stated in his Facebook message broadcast this had already been done by John Ainsworth and John Ireland with YouTube videos posted on their site Marriagetrial.com for any and all to see. Why did Courage Campaign feel the need to do this over with tin cup in hand for donations from the public to boot?

We thought that was kinda’ whack on Courage’s behalf as well—–until we saw the actual project—Testimony On Trial. Soooo…Josh…dude…you know we love you, right? But what the  hell are you talking about? This is nothing like John Ainsworth and John Ireland’s trial re-enactments. LIKE nothing—as in—N-U-T-H-I-N. Yea, that kinda’ nothing.

We’re not going to go into detail about the Testimony On Trial project. You can check out the link to the Website for that which we’ve included at the end of this post.  We will say however that we like it; it’s cute and clever and does a great job of using celebrities the way they need to be used in spreading the word and the support of marriage equality in California. It’s great to read a blog post or article about a celebrity supporting LGBT equality. It’s another experience entirely to see them actually participating in a campaign on this level. The other cool thing about Testimony On Trial is that it is interactive—-you can participate with your own video. But you can chew on all that in the project’s link we’ve posted.

Back to Josh: Fast forward to the Facebook message we received today—this time Einsohn is backing off of the accusations that Courage is producing a second reactment of the Prop 8 trial—well, Josh we can see clearly it’s not. But he continues to criticize Courage for the $100k request for the financing of the project; we’re going to assume Courage already put its own money upfront and trying to recoup that via fundraising.

Josh Einsohn thinks that’s bogus and a super inflated amount for the production costs of this project. Hmmm…well, here’s the thing:

A. Josh, you sent out a message a couple of weeks ago that wasn’t entirely truthful. You said the project was duplicating something already done. That’s not true. It’s not even close. They’re completely and totally different takes on the Prop 8 trial.

B. We love you bro’ but you’re not the arbiter of what’s authentic fundraising and what isn’t. Especially when somebody else is doing the legwork to get the funds. With all due respect, who are you to put a ceiling on someone else’s game? We know that you’ve made many PSAs on your own and probably do know the production budgets of projects like these very intimately. And this project here—Courage’s Testimony On Trial—-it ain’t your business, sweet thing. Why are you cockblocking? Wassup widdat?

All Or Not All’s Josh Einsohn

Courage will either raise the 100k or they won’t. Nobody will starve if they do get it. Most sane people don’t donate what they need. So you know, no harm no foul. Chill out bro.

And yes, we rip regularly into the likes of EQCA—all of it mouth wateringly deserved—and will rip into Courage anytime/any day with GUSTO if we spot what we feel to be an impropriety on their behalf. We just don’t see it this time out.  And spotting as such is part of RENWL’s claim to fame—stickin’ it to the big guys with no lube in sight—ain’t that right Marc Solomon?  Tell ‘em you sexy hairy back ape you .  So no–we just see no reason to demand that Courage bend over and grab their ankles in seeking funding for this project is all we’re saying.  Relax darlin’. Or at least tell us what’s underneath this one-man anti-Courage campaign of yours. Because honey—the funding and production of this project ain’t it. Show us what the ax is really grinding.
