Among state statistics California reported teenage pregnancies for 2008 at a record low of 51,704. While teen pregnancy among black teens has dropped dramatically over the last decade, the birth rate for California’s African American teen girls is  still high at 39 births for every 1000 teens. ~~California Department Of Public Health

These are things our black leaders need to be focusing on—the needs of black urban youth instead of campaigning on bigoted positions like Fontana, CA  councilperson Acquanetta Warren. She is a African American republican running for California State Assembly 63rd District. Recently Warren stomped at several black churches in Southern California, where she enthusiastically cheered the new Arizona immigration law, according to Earl Defari Hutchinson’s recent Huff Post essay Fingering Illegal Immigrants for Black Jobless Crisis. She didn’t stop there, says Hutchinson. She also said that a tough law cracking down on illegal immigration was long overdue and waved off any notion that it would lead to racial profiling, and challenged the federal government to do its job and fully enforce the tough immigration controls.

Poor, black teen girls who think their boyfriends want a baby are 12 times more likely to wish they were pregnant compared with similar teens who expressed no desire to become pregnant, according to new research. ~ Science Blog

Sure Miss Warren. Just like the immigrants are also responsible for African Americans having the highest HIV infection rate in the country.  If Miss Warren really cared about the state of California African Americans, she would as part of her campaign, focus on the disturbing lack of information made available to African American young men and youth and counsel in the areas of solid sex education and the dire need for condom distribution in High Schools. Or how about the low self-esteem of many black teen girls who end up getting pregnant just to please their boyfriends.

In a recent survey it was revealed that 93% of African American teens interviewed feels that Sex Education should be mandatory in high schools. 76% of them also say they desire condom distribution in high schools. ~Black Youth Project

While Miss Warren is out preaching the gospel against illegal immigrants who we’re all but certain is responsible for the current teen pregnancy and HIV/AIDS crisis in the black community as well, here’s what some of our youth have created in response to the abundant HIV/AIDS prevention information, sex education and condom distribution that IS NOT provided to them in urban high schools. It goes hand in hand with the results of the lack of access to critical sex education information. It’s a new dance craze sweeping the Dirty South called Dick Slang. We plan on sending this to Miss Warren as a campaign contribution. Oh we almost forgot, Dick Slang has a gay response.
