Important PSA: Tipsy Tow To Offer Free Towing For Drunk Drivers Tonight In LA
Folks you might want to forward this one to friends and others who plan on leaving home this evening to partake in new years eve festivities.
The Automobile Club of So. Cal will be offering free tows to intoxicated drivers starting at 6 pm tonight until 11:59 am on Friday, January 1. The public service effort called Tipsy Tow covers 13 counties in the Southern California region which includes all cities in the county of Los Angeles. One should note however, the service does not include offering rides to passengers (drivers only) and must be within a 7-mile radius to qualify for the free tow.
For more information you can contact (800) 400-4AAA. One other thing: you do not have to be the driver of the vehicle to request the service. If you’re a passenger with someone who you feel is inebriated and shouldn’t drive you can request the tow service for the vehicle, yourself. So party hosts, bar and restaurant managers and the like, heads up. Don’t let anyone leave your house or establishment with keys in hand if you feel they’re in no condition to drive. The best thing about this deal is that if you’re a party host no longer do you have to insist that your drunk guests just stay the night. Call for a free tow and send them on their way. Just remember, any tow outside of 7 miles is not free.
You can also check out this post at ABC Local for more detailed info.
PS. Reminder folks: Last week there were over 1,400 DUI arrests in Los Angeles. There were over 400 DUI arrests last new year’s eve. Don’t be another statistic. If you’re tipsy call a tow. Happy new year:)
